Feature

Measure the ground
before you cross it.

Distance, area and slope angle from points you place on the map. Slope comes from the elevation model, so you get degrees, grade and the height between the two points.

How it works

01

Distance

Pan the map to put the crosshair on a point and tap Add point. Keep adding points and the total updates as you go.

02
An area traced around a lake, with its area and perimeter

Area

Place three points or more to close a shape. The readout gives the area and the perimeter.

03

Slope Angle

Place two points and read the angle between them in degrees, with the grade, the elevation change and the distance.

Sources / What it does not do

Sources
  • Distance and area are computed on your phone from the points you place.
  • Slope Angle reads elevation from Aventerra's own elevation model, sampled on your phone.
  • Measurements are saved to your history with the nearest place name and sync with your account.
Data sources
What it does not do
  • Slope Angle measures the straight line between two points. It is not the steepest ground in between.
  • Elevation comes from a model, not a survey. Treat the angle as an estimate.
  • Distance and area are measured flat on the map. They do not add the climb.
  • With no connection, Slope Angle needs the area's terrain on your phone. Otherwise it shows Elevation unavailable here.

Frequently asked

Do the tools need Pro?

No. Distance, Area and Slope Angle are on every plan.

Can I measure in imperial units?

Yes. Pick the unit from the readout: kilometres, metres, miles, yards or feet for distance, and square metres, hectares, square kilometres, square feet, acres or square miles for area.

Where do my measurements go?

Into your measurement history, newest first, with the nearest place name. Open the history from the measuring bar to find one again or delete it.
