How it works

01
The hazard report form with category and severity

Report it once

Pick from about 20 hazard categories, set a severity and add a measurement if you have one. The report travels over the mesh when there is no signal.

02
A hazard report with its Still there and Not there votes

Confirm or clear it

Riders who pass the spot vote the report still there or gone, and reports expire on their own. Reporter trust levels show how much weight to give a pin.

03

Follow the feed

Trip reports and community trails land in a feed with reactions and comments, and condition heads-ups stand out. Tag an outing with fresh snow and your friends get an alert.

Sources / What it does not do

Sources
  • Hazard reports, trip reports, condition tags, photos and community trails come from Aventerra users.
  • Reporter trust tags are signed by Aventerra's server, so a tag relayed over the mesh can be verified.
  • Community trails are verified before they are shown as such, with photos attached.

What it does not do
  • Reports are observations from other users, not forecasts. Weigh them yourself.
  • Reports expire. An old pin may already be gone from the map.
  • Posting, commenting and voting are moderated. Removed content can be appealed from inside the app.
  • The monthly challenge leaderboard compares you with your friends, not with every user.

Frequently asked

How are false reports handled?

Reports carry a reporter trust level, other riders can vote them gone, and every report can be flagged for moderation. Deliberately false hazard reports are treated as a serious violation of the Community Guidelines.

Can I report from the watch?

Yes. The companion watch app sends a hazard report from your wrist, as well as SOS and chat quick replies.

What is a condition tag?

A quick tag on your outing, such as fresh snow, that posts to the feed. A fresh-snow tag also alerts your friends.
